March 11, 2010 Location: Sanford Hospital Canton-Inwood Description: A mammogram is an x-ray exam of the breast and it’s used to detect and evaluate breast changes. Mammograms are most often used to look for breast cancer that is too small to be felt in women who have no signs or symptoms. The American Cancer Society suggests women age 40 and older should have a screening mammogram every year, and should continue to do so for as long as they are in good health. For more information on these events or to schedule an appointment, please call Sanford Hospital Canton- Inwood at (605) 764-1500.
